The Family Adventure (10 Days)

A Magical Kingdom Through a Child’s Eyes Morocco is a playground for the imagination, and our Family Adventure is designed to keep every generation enchanted. We’ve reimagined the traditional tour to focus on "doing" rather than just "seeing." By shortening driving times and packing the itinerary with interactive experiences—from Roman scavenger hunts to desert sandboarding we ensure that the youngest travelers are just as engaged as the oldest.

Itinenarie

Day 1: Casablanca – Seaside Arrival

Welcome to Morocco! We keep your first day low-stress to allow the family to adjust to the new time zone and culture.

  • A visit to the Hassan II Mosque, where children are often fascinated by the floor-level glass windows looking down at the ocean and the massive retractable roof.

  • The Evening: A casual dinner at a Corniche seaside restaurant. While the food is prepared, the kids can run on the Atlantic sands or enjoy the sea breeze.

  • We provide a "Junior Explorer" journal for each child to document their trip with stickers and sketches.

Day 2: Rabat – Pirates of the Bou Regreg

Rabat is a city of forts and legends, perfect for young imaginations.

  • Explore the Oudaya Kasbah. Your host will share tales of the "Salé Corsairs" the real-life pirates who once ruled these waters.

  • Visit the Exotic Gardens of Bouknadel, a labyrinth of secret paths, rope bridges, and unusual plants from around the world that feels like a jungle adventure.

Day 3: Volubilis – The Roman Scavenger Hunt

Instead of a standard history lecture, we turn the ruins of Volubilis into a live-action game.

  • Each child receives a Scavenger Hunt list. They must find specific "clues" hidden in the Roman mosaics look for the dolphin, the wild dog, or the Labors of Hercules.

  • A small prize is awarded for a completed list before we continue to our family-friendly Riad in Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Potters, Donkeys & Hidden Alleys

Fes is a giant, car-free urban maze where history comes to life at every corner.

  • Visit a pottery and zellige workshop. The kids will get behind a traditional pottery wheel to shape their own clay bowl under the guidance of a master artisan.

  • Since cars can’t enter the Medina, we arrange a gentle donkey or mule ride through the winding streets the most authentic (and fun) way for little legs to see the city.

Day 5: The Monkey Forest & Mountain Air

  • We head into the Middle Atlas for some unforgettable wildlife interaction.

  • Stop in the Azrou Cedar Forest to meet the wild Barbary Macaques. We’ll provide healthy snacks so the kids can safely feed these friendly primates in their natural habitat.

  • A shorter driving day ending in Midelt, ensuring the kids have plenty of time to play and burn off energy at the hotel garden.

Day 6: Sahara – Sandboarding & Fossils

  • The desert is the ultimate sandbox!

  • Search the "Black Desert" for 300-million-year-old trilobite and ammonite fossils that you can actually pick up and keep as a souvenir.

  • Grab a sandboard! We head to the dunes of Merzouga for an afternoon of surfing the sand before a sunset camel trek.

  • Sleep in a Luxury Nomadic Tent and learn how to play Berber drums around the campfire under a blanket of stars.

Day 7: Dades – Bread Baking & Pool Time

  • Join a local family in the Valley of Roses for a bread-baking session. Kids help knead the dough and watch it bake in a traditional tafarnout (stone oven).

  • We select a hotel with a stunning swimming pool overlooking the valley so the family can cool off and relax after the morning's activities.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Into the Movies

  • Welcome to the "Hollywood of Africa," where the desert becomes a film set.

  • Tour the Atlas Film Studios. Kids can walk through the gates of ancient Egypt, stand on "Roman" battlements, and see sets from The Mummy and Star Wars.

  • Your host will explain how movie magic is made in the middle of the desert using simple tricks of perspective.

Day 9: Marrakech – The Great Souk Treasure Hunt

  • Our final major city tour is designed as a high-energy adventure.

  • Your guide provides the family with a set of riddles. To solve them, you must find specific items in the Marrakech Souks (e.g., "Find the man selling blue glass" or "Locate the mountain of olives").

  • The final clue leads to a "hidden" shop where the children find their "treasure" a handcrafted local gift to take home.
